			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Parkway House of Prayer located on King Street in Roanoke, Virginia is launching Renewanation&#8211; &#8220;Renew a Nation&#8221;.   This will be an endowed sponsored school system that provide free Christain eduction for the Roanoke Valley.   The new corporte president is Melvin Adams.  Currrently, the preliminary meetings are being held @ PHOP and committees have been meeting to plan an information banquet to be held in November at the Hotel Roanoke.  More information will be posted over the coming days.  </p>

<p>1. City market - dating back to 1882, is the states oldest continuously operating open-air market.</p>
<p>2.  Mill Mountain- At 1,045 feet high, Mill Mountain is one of a very few mountains in the nation to be contained entirely within a city&#8217;s limits.  The 56 year old zoo @ top is a favorite.  The iconic 88.5 foot tall Mill Mountain Star rests on a 500,000 pound concrete base and contains 2000 feet of neon tubing and makes it visible from 60 miles away.</p>
<p>3.  The Hotel Roanoke-  It is the city&#8217;s Grand Dame.  Built in 1882, it recently celebrated 125 anniversary.  </p>
<p>4.  Carvins Cove - The 630 acre, 6.4 Billion gallon source of most of Roanoke&#8217;s drinking water.    The Carvins Cove Natural Reserve is 12,700 acres that is a haven for bikers, hikers and horse riders. </p>
<p>5.  Virgina Tech - Hokie City, Quick drive down I-81 you can enjoy game at Lane Stadium.</p>
<p>6.  Smith Mountain Lake -   22,000 acres of water and 500 miles of shoreline less than 40 minutes from Roanoke.  Whether is&#8217;t boating and camping in the Smith mountain Lake State Park, or dining @ the Bridge&#8230;this is the best place to get a true taste of the lake.</p>
